Old and New Faces in the Modi 3.0 Cabinet

 71 Ministers who took oath along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, June 6, 2024, have been allocated their respective portfolios. Each has been deployed in ministries which they have either served before or have been delegated new responsibilities in the newly elected Modi Government. Narendra Damodardas Modi is only the second Prime Minister in the long list of illustrious Prime Ministers of independent India who is taking charge of the country's leadership for the third consecutive term. 

Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and S Jaishankar have been retained in their erstwhile portfolios thus marking the fact that the BJP got to keep the big four ministries in their wallet. 

In addition to this, the allies of BJP in the NDA like TDP, JD(U), LJP (RV) AND JD(S) have been handed out heavyweight portfolios. For instance, TDP's Ram Mohan Naidu is set to be the new Aviation Minister, JD(U)'s Lalan Singh has been handed the Panchayati Raj Ministry and the newest incumbent with a steller performance, winning in 5 constituencies, Chirag Paswan has been given to be the Minister of the Food Processing Industries. JD(S)'s HD Kumaraswamy has been made the new Heavy Industries and the Minister of Steel.

The Janata Bhawan Solar Project in Assam has been Launched, Making It the First Civic Secretariat in India to Run Solely on Solar Energy.

 Synopsis Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the Janata Bhawan Solar Project, a 2.5-Mw grid-connected rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV system. The facility will generate an average of 3 lakh units of power each month, with a Rs. 12.56 crore investment estimated to be recouped within four years. The initiative would transform the Assam Secretariat Complex into the country's first civil secretariat to rely solely on Solar-generated electricity for daily use.
